There's not much chance the Jets move Scheifele, but if they did it would be similar to the Laine deal. As close as possible to one for one. A collection of lesser pieces does nothing for Winnipeg.

If the Jets aren't looking like a playoff lock by the end of January trading Scheifele should be considered and this would be a good return, would also look to flip Strome somewhere as well.

Would the Rangers do this, idk but something like this is what I'd assume the Jets would want for Scheifele.

I would think sending Strome to the Bruins would make more sense for both teams if the Scheifele trade happened, send Kravtsov to the Jets instead maybe.

Strome wouldn't even come close. No one is trading you a 1C on a bargain contract for 2 years after this one for a marginal rental 3C.

The original deal is good value, it just doesn't have the main piece Winnipeg would want back if they trade Scheifele. If Scheifele goes the Jets want a similar aged and skilled center as the main piece coming back.

Strome is pretty good. But Zibanejad isn't being traded, if that is what you are asking.

Understandable. At the same time though, the Jets have no incentive to move Scheifele at all at this time and would only probably consider it if they are getting a similar player back in return, unless Scheifele asks for a trade.

Rangers pass and so would the Jets.
