Hagel is really good i don’t think CHI will do that. Devils fans say Severson has been had this season so he’ll probably cost less.

Severson for less would be awesome.

I want Hagel. He’s one of the best kept secrets in the league currently. A Hagel-Kampf-Kase line would be annoying to play against.

Not only is Hagel really darn good but he is on an extremely cap friendly contract for two more seasons after the current one. He is WAAAAYYYY too valuable for that offer. I'd start with Matthews and add from there... That last part was a joke. lol

For sure but he’ll cost too much. I think TOR can pull off a Ritchie for Strome swap. Then get someone like Evan Rodrigues who plays like Hagel for a 2nd.

Hagel is literally the best kept secret in the league. I would pay the Blake Coleman price for him. Maybe we change it to a 2023 1st. (TBH Toronto is extremely good drafting outside round 1 that we really don’t need 1st lol)

Also Hot take. I like Ritchie. He’s unfortunately this years whipping boy but he knows his role on this team. He’s a PP specialist who’ll throw the body. We need guys like that on a deep run. He’ll score big goals in big games for us in the playoffs.

No, the mistake was mine. I thought Mikheyev's injury prognosis was worse than it is, and wasn't expecting him back relatively soon. A 3rd still seems like a bit of a reach for a bottom six winger who hasn't played yet this year. NSH probably isn't that team though, even if they're adding at the deadline. Jeannot and Trenin already bring Mikheyev's size and physicality with more skill, and they've got Olivier too if they need extra bottom six beef.

Ritchie is a solid player but he isn’t able to generate enough offence on his own due to his inability to create plays in tight spaces. It’s too much money invested into a 4th line LW. If we acquire Strome, it would give us a 3B caliber line that is more dangerous at 5v5.

I agree but I want Hagel for the 3rd line. I’d pay high price if I need to just to have em.

The reason I like Ritchie on the 4th line although he’s overpaid is that he goes out there and lay the body and create dangerous chances against lesser competition. That line of Ritchie-Spezza-Simmonds has been on fire. They crash the net and get those elusive playoff style goals that we want.

Love the idea of Strome but with his RFA status we would also be forced to pay him over 4 million due his contract structure. I rather keep Kerfoot is that’s the case imo as I expect Joey Anderson and Nick Robertson to be full time Leafs next season.

Ok fair. Taught NSH can use some more speed, however every team has their style. A team would fork over a 3rd for Mikheyev just for his speed and pk ability. Might not be NSH but another team will.

Good prospect, has top 6 potential as puck moving dman offensive with good hockey iq. Needs some work in his own end however. If he puts it together can easily be much higher in the lineup

For sure I get what you’re saying. I think Ritchie is a good player as well, he does a lot of things well. I just think if we’re spending 2-3 million on a bottom 6 player, it should be for a center. I’d probably offer one of Robertson/Knies + 1st for Hagel, that’s what Coleman got. If CHI is nice they’ll throw Strome in the package as well.

Nah it would probably cost less than that. Robertson and Knies would be most prospect pool across the league crown jewel and it ain’t even ours.

It would probably be SDA and a 1st as remember for Coleman it was conditional.
