Description
Saw a Pens fan post a trade of Kapanen for Greenway. Made me think of Kapanen for Kubalik. Then I thought "maybe MAF comes back for one more season" and maybe we scoop up Lindholm like everyone has been drooling about the possibility of since last year. And then, finally, I thought screw it lets grab Barzal too. Hawks fans will say it's overpayment. Isles fans will say it's underpayment. But I honestly don't care what you all say. This roster would be a lot of fun to watch!

Holy overpayment on Lindholm, and Canucks aren't interested in Borgstrom, let alone for that price

Kinda doesn't matter where Borgy goes or what we get for him. So I'm ok with that assessment. Overpayment on Lindholm? Really? I don't know about that. Some people on here have his next contract even higher than that. He is a pretty boss defensive defensemen and still puts up quite a few points. What do you think his next contract looks like?

I have him pegged in around the $6.25-6.75 million AAV range on a long-term deal, but I guess the highest bidder will ultimately have to overpay to get him. Good no. 2 defenseman of course

Yeah. That's kind of what I was thinking. That any team outside of Anaheim will probably have to overpay. But some ducks fans have him pegged as walking in free agency or being traded. So it's hard to gauge what their thoughts are. But, I changed it to $6.5x6 anyway. I thought about just going for the cheaper Manson for the 2nd or 3rd pairing RD. And leaving the LD alone. But I think with Jones and Murphy on the right side, another more established player for the left side would be good. I've been loving McCabe, but I like him on that second pairing with Murphy. And I don't feel like Stillman, Caleb Jones, or Kalynuk really belong on the top pairing, at least not yet.

What do you think of that Barzal trade? I'm open to the possibility that Barzal gets more than that, but "very much an underpayment" like that other guy said seems like a stretch to me.

How much more do you think it takes?

Um, I think that's a decent return for Barzal. The fact that you have Dach and a 1st rounder in there is key

Problem is the first rounder is 3 years away. It would have to be more current

The first round pick would have to be this season and I'd also want better prospects like Reichel and Vlasic. You can keep Strome and Beaudin

The issue there is our 1st round picks for this year and next year are tied up in the conditions from the Jones trade. So, it all depends on whether or not we get that pick back this year and send next years 1st to CBJ. But also, if we did win the lottery and got that pick back, I don't see them trading a top two pick for anything, even Barzal. But if that doesn't happen, I could see them MAYBE trading next years for a Barzal. But that would depend on what is going on with the team. Are they going full on rebuild? If so, they aren't buying anyone like Barzy. If the permanent GM decides to do a fast rebuild like this proposal (which I doubt happens) then yeah they could get pretty aggressive with picks. Regardless, the point of this ACGM was just to say "wow that could potentially be a pretty awesome roster". It's not really a realistic proposition though.

Okay yeah, I suppose that's not the best for the Isle's if they are moving their no. 1 Centreman
