Next Offseason

Team: 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 4, 2021
Published: Dec. 4, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Call me crazy but this team doesn't look half bad! I think goaltending will struggle a bit as will defense. They should also probably make a trade eating some salary for a better goaltender/defensemen but I couldn't think of one. LMK what you think.

  1. DeBrusk, Jake [RFA Rights]
  2. Foligno, Nick
Additional Details:
What is Foligno's value? Is he a cap dump at this point? Trade is also contingent on him waiving, which I believe he will since he's a Buffalo native.

From a B’s fan perspective: Even as a Buffalo native, I’d be hard pressed to believe he’d waive. He passed up the chance to play with his brother in Minnesota, and had a multitude of reasons to play in Boston on and off the ice. The trade just feels a little left footed, DeBrusk will be moved before the off-season most likely, and if so, the B’s want to compete so they will probably want a roster player in return.

Granato has them playing high event hockey, i was expecting them to struggle to score every game. They still arent good. They need to get an nhl goalie, id be happy with an average one as long as we dont overpay to get him. After that, theres so much stuff coming- im hoping for a top 5 pick to use on a franchise center this year, plus you have tuch, krebs, peterka, and quinn coming up front, and power, johnson, and samuelsson coming on d- at some point in the next year or so. There is going to be an infusion of talent that granato will have to work with, we have to see how many kernels pop. I think in the near future, i wanna see how the guys here respond when the offense dries up, i dont think its sustainable, is granato going to try to lock things down, and how will the team respond if he does.

Absolutely no interest in debrusk or foligno, certainly not trading a 1st for them.

They both block 2 of our best prospects and that is a hilarious contract for debrusk

Buffalo pass, and this line-up looks unrealistic, it will be different.
