Dahlin is going to cost more! like 3 for 3, ferraro will be more like 4 for 4.5, where is Barabanov? he’s been solid for us! and where is Knyzhov?
the more I look at the next 2-3 years the more I see a need to let Hertl go. he’s looked slower this year and less like the stellar athlete we remember, i think his multiple knee injury are catching up to him and with Robins and Bordeleau looking like men among boys in their perspective leagues i feel one of them will be our 2C sooner than later.

I don’t think Ferraro makes that much unless he puts up 35 points this season. Doesn’t have a ton of leverage as an RFA and he’s never been a point guy to really earn that much.

points are not everything Ferraro is a player the sharks will no doubt build around! he reminds me of a vlasic boyle mix! and will be our future captain! if he was a points guy he would be in the Fox price range and no doubt a Norris trophy canidate.

Why would a team whose main problem is too many bloated contracts to 30+ year olds repeat the pattern by allocating around 60M to Hertl past 30

They would then owe over:

42 total million

To five 30+ year old non elite guys until 2025ish

😳

Naturally Hertl is the best allocation of that $

But at the some point the process has to change

Most players dropoff around 30

Hertl just looking deceptively young doesn't help

Ferraro has mediocre posession numbers too tho

Without tough deployment

Still quite young but building around him not ideal

way to undervalue a player! he is playing against every teams top lines with predominantly high defensive zone starts at 23 and is putting up decent offensive stats as well! he has a great motor and has made Burns look defensively competent as well.
you need to look at the numbers, players and coaches comments and the eye test. kid is much better than your giving him credit for

For Ferraro, I used Nurse & Morrissey bridge contract they had
I think it’s a good comparable
Dahlen might get more we’ll see
I let go Barabanov and forgot to sign Knyzhov

Because their GM is still Doug Wilson

Barabanov is an ideal middle 6 guy! i would keep him over Balcers. and as much as i like Middleton, Knyzhov has more speed and skill to compliment Karlsson. Middleton is an ideal 6th or 7th D guy! big plays smart can fight when needed.
i feel like Ferraro is a grade above those two but time will tell, i’m hoping your right cheaper would be better.
