Honestly, I think the Avs would be interested if they can't get someone like Hertl or Forsberg for around the same price.

I have bias in an obvious way, but Hertl < Giroux = Forsberg IMO

I think the good thing about Giroux is that he has been durable and, if he likes his time in Colorado, he'd be cheaper to re-sign (both money and term) than Hertl or Forsberg. Plus, he's pretty solid defensively which is something the Avs need.

avs might need those assets for a goalie but not bad value

Big overpay for DC. arguably a downgrade for what type of RD Washington wants, (Loses the PP2 QB, without a great replacement) and Risto and Brassard together are not worthy of adding a 2nd and a 3rd.

I like that WSH save some $ on that deal, but I think for that return PHI should sweeten by also taking back hagelin and kempny to ultimately bury

Expecting the most analytically friendly GM to pay a 3rd for a 35y/o (at that point) D with mediocre underlying metrics is really questionable

Especially when he's not league minimum like...

How could tml justify that given their cap situation

Braun has actually been excellent this year. He's regularly looked comfortable having to step in on the top pairing with Ellis injured and has played over 20 minutes a night while putting up decent numbers. I'd have to see how the daily cap space allotment allows TOR to do this but I'd say that's probably the best bargain deal of the bunch
