Don’t think wasting a 1st for Pavelski is the right move. Still not quite sure whether this team is for real or not. Guess by the deadline we’ll probably have a better idea if they’re contenders or pretenders.

Need to give up a better pick and/or prospect in the Seattle trade to get Gio with retention.

its one year left on the deal. the retention makes 0 difference it resets at the draft. They arent adding to their roster. Look at the Eric Staal trade.

Doesn't get you Giordano and Dallas is currently sitting 3rd in the division based on PTS%. Not sure the team that went to cup finals in 2020 and is playing good hockey right now will be looking to sell.

Doesn't matter if it is one year left on the deal or not. They are doing you a favor by retaining money so it is going to cost you an asset (either prospect or pick). They would probably also want something for taking on Nemeth's contract.

you get his signing rights in the offseason he is still capable of getting points you bring him back on a 1 yr 750k if he believes in the team and the future and we make a deep run this off season.

Pavs isn’t a waste of a first round pick. Paw paw still has the goods. But we’re back in the playoff hunt so the for sale sign is currently not up anyways lol
