San Jose had a very strong 2020 draft class, and Coe makes up a large chunk of that "strength".

Leading the OHL in points but Coe was IMO one of the steals of the 2020 draft along with Tristen Robins. SJ got two really excellent players here.

He's doing very well this year, but don't forget that he is playing in the OHL as an overager. Still, fantastic season so far and very much deserves this contract.

I've considered this. Labanc was also an overager in the OHL. Technically he wouldn't be in the OHL this year if it wasn't for the cancelled COVID year. He would likely have been with the Cuda this season.

I think it's the other way round: he wouldn't have been in the AHL last year except for the canceled season. He's still eligible for the OHL based on age.
