I don't see why Vancouver would trade a 4th for a UFA?

canucks can resign him and he adds physical pushback to the bottom 6. Someone to stand up for the star players

Canes are doing that. I mean that is a bit pricey for Rakell. Fast is playing amazing right now, and Nybeck is developing very well. Canes also won’t trade that 1st rounder unless they really need to, and I think there would be better players than Rackell available at the TDL. Canes also need a LW more than a right wing right now, so Rackell would either have to play his off wing or someone else would have to play their off wing. Forsberg would be a better option than Rakell, and if the Preds are out at the TDL, Canes could try to buy low.

Pass on the Rakell trade. Nybeck is a weak prospect, Fast does nothing for us, and we could get a 2022 1st from somewhere else. Tbh, I doubt CAR would give up the 2023 1st rounder anyway as you never know what next season will be like, e.g. Montreal this season vs last season.

I'd do the Manson trade, but I doubt TOR will. I also doubt Philly would do the Konecy trade. Jones is an energy guy and Tracey doesn't look to be anything special (Logan Shaw 2.0 - extra vanilla). That is also a steep condition on the 1st as Konecy isn't exactly putting Anaheim over-the-top. A great talent to have and I would love to add him, but just don't think I'd willing to give up the assets required.

Please don't compare Montreal's surprise playoff run to a Stanley Cup contender, it does not make you sound smart.

Toronto accepts since all they're giving up is a 1st, an AHL level defenseman, and Holl

Lol... Even if you ignore the deep playoff run, MTL went from a wild card spot to 2nd last in the league. Imagine if they'd given up a 2022 1st round pick to add at the TDL? It was just an example bro. There are plenty of others in recent memory, e.g. Erik Karlsson to SJ trade, Matt Duchene to OTT trade, both trading away 1st round pick for the draft in the following year and both turning out very badly for the teams involved.
