That's a terrible deal for the Oilers. Bouchard is already an NHL defenseman and has another year on ELC. RHD is also typically more difficult to find than LHD, and the Oilers don't have anyone in line that could take his spot. Doesn't work based on position or cap.

I think all of those deals except for the EDM are fair. Is this just to get a few more futures and free up cash?

Fowler would be a great add for oilers but not at the cost of Bouchard. Fill one spot by emptying another isn’t really helping oilers get ahead and Bouchard having another year of his elc is incredibly important for Edmonton.
