As long as the Habs can at least flip Kempny somewhere I don't see why they wouldn't do that

Don't think so, I just put two separate 'transactions' together to prevent the list from being too long.

tbh I am not sure. Was just asking to see if anyone knew. Would be interested to know.

I would love for us to keep Edmundson if possible, but any other veteran is an easy green light for me!

Why exactly are we trading Armia for Ladd? We get our pick back regardless as it will be a top 10 pick, so now we just give away Armia for a more expensive worse player?! Makes no sense TBH.

Short answer, yes.
Long answer, not normally, but because the conditions are owned by the two teams in question, they can perform a trade which provides alternate conditions, essentially negating the conditions of the first trade.

For example, if the condition of the first trade is Arizona gets the worst of pick A and pick B, the condition of a later trade can be that Arizona transfers whichever of pick A or B they receive.

The conditions of a trade simply cannot interfere with the conditions of a previous trade. So you can't reverse or name picks with conditions attached, but you can make a trade with the understanding you will be exchanging a pick "to be determined later", once those conditions are fulfilled.

I would rather get rid of Armia and sit Ladd in the press box and let someone like Ylonen/Harvey Pinard play. Just my take, you don't have to feel the same smile

I understand what you are saying but Armia hasn't been bad just slightly overpaid.

He hasn't been good this year, especially for his contract. I don't see any teams giving up assets for him.

Nothing in that Dallas deal is worth a first. Don’t need Edmundson. Lehkonen and Raffl are a wash. Don’t know what’s going on with the Bishop situation yet, but it’s easily maneuvered without giving up a first round pick
