I think ARI would be on Hornqvist's 8-team no-trade list

I didn’t signed him because a team might overpay for him around 1.5M maybe more

I've seen fans of seven teams already who'd take Hornqvist for free. The Panthers won't have to pay to get rid of him

Which teams?! All the ones on his 8 team 'no trade' list? He's going to be expensive to move no doubt

At least Ott, nyr, mtl, la, van, phi and buf.

You can expect Pittsburgh to be one of the teams on the list, which leaves seven Canadian teams (those are usually really popular ones to include in there). So, 4 of those would most likely not be on the list

I disagree that his no trade list would be PIT + 7 Canadian teams, but anyway...which are the 7 teams that you think would take him for free?

I just listed those... I've seen multiple fans of Ott, nyr, mtl, la, van, phi, buf wanting to take him for free. A few were ready to even pay assets.

You have been misled then:

NYR have $10m in cap space next season to resign Kakko + Strome + 5 other players. They cannot afford for one of those to be a $5m 4th liner.
MTL are in worst shape than Florida with only $4.4m in cap space to sign 5 players
VAN are working out how to squeeze Boeser in next season, with Miller + Horvat + Hoglander due the season after

I would expect BUF and OTT to be on Hornqvist's no trade list

LAK and PHI appear to be retooling so they might take on Hornqvist for a high draft pick, but no way they take on that cap hit for nothing.

And why wouldn't LA or PHI take him for free? You need guys like Hornqvist to lead young players and set winning standards. Guys who know how to win. Besides, he isn't just a deadbeat 4th liner, either, this isn't a situation like Strålman's.

Plus, 8 teams is really not that big of a list, especially considering Pittsburgh is definitely a no-go. Hornqvist can't put every rebuilding/Canadian team on there. And there are more teams I could see having interest in him, such as Columbus, Detroit, Anaheim and NJD.

You are dreaming. There is no way any team takes Hornqvist for free. Cap space is perhaps the most valuable asset to have right now. FLA will have to pay to get rid of their cap trouble, just like other teams. Similar to the Marleau deal where it cost TOR a first to move him to CAR. Also PHI and LA have their own veteran leaders already.

Gms knows Zito need to move cap space, I highly doubt some teams wants to help them just like that

That was the argument with Tampa needing to move Johnson, too. He cost a 2nd to dump, and he had 3 years of his contract left, not just one

Still had too pay to move him
My bad, I shouldn’t have drop the pick 35ish spot
Maybe a 2nd RD pick only because he is still a useful player

That is still the same price as Johnson, and Hornqvist should be much easier to dump

I wouldn't say better... And he had four years left on his deal, it expires when he is just as old as Hornqvist

So, why wouldn't another team think they will be competitive by adding Hornqvist, who was on pace to hit 26 goals last season and the season before?

Because teams don’t have the cap space, we all thought CHI were rebuilding but with the return of Toews & by adding Jones, they thought they had a chance. Maybe a random team would do the same for Hornqvist, but we all doubt it
