Ive Seen Enough

Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 7, 2021
Published: Dec. 7, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Carpenter, R. Johnson, Khaira (hope he's ok), Hardman, and Slavin. What do they have in common? They have virtually no offensive upside. On top of no offensive upside, they provide ZERO energy to the team. Khaira gets hit up high, Stillman has a weak fight against Trouba, and that's it. Where's the anger? Where's the intensity? Why are there all these 4th liners in the lineup when they provide no energy? This looks like a team that plays hockey 9-5, rather than living out their dream, and it's depressing to watch. I get that the Rangers are good, but your goalie is on 499 career wins, can you try and string something together for the guy who's been standing on his head for you? Sell as much as possible and try and bring in some more skill next season, not sure what else they can do from here. Can't go full rebuild with the Jones extension and DeBrincat's looming the following season.

To quote a legend, "You guys are playing like it's some throwaway game up in Rochester."

Yes we were bad and offensively we are poor currently but some of the values on these trades is a bit off for our guys.

I'd be shocked if half of these guys get moved in the first place. Maybe get more for Fleury and taking Khudobin, but at the end of the day, there's not a lot of value on this roster.

I’m curious because I don’t watch enough Hawks games but is Dach a 1C?

No he's not, but neither is Toews, and neither is Strome. They think Dach is the best option. Regardless, they don't have a true 1C.

I think Hardman provides some offensive upside. He did play on BU's 1st line last year next to two of the best forward prospects in the NHL so he clearly knows what hes doing in some capacity. But I agree. Never been a big 4th liner guy

Rodrigues did the same with Eichel, we all know what he is. Hardman is more of the same. There's really no speed or skill from any of those guys, this has to be the slowest team in the league.

Yeah I agree its going to be hard to get value for our Guys when the play hasn't been of a high standard. Never the less we can get a 22' pick 2nd-3rd for DeHaan at TDL with retention at the very least. MAF if he wants to move can net us a 22' 2nd with retention also hopefully. We are still stuck with TJ and Connolly Contracts. We could also look to move Guys with some value like Strome or Kubalik. Carpy will likely depart for a 4th/5th at the TDL like Tommy Wingel did.

I'd be open to moving Kubalik, I really don't think Strome is worth anything at this point and they might as well keep playing him in the top 6 to build his value up. His underlying numbers are very good, but there's not enough results out of him to justify getting a fair return. I do think MAF is worth a 1st, so there's a chance to recoup that pick which would be nice. Up to him on a trade though.

Oilers do this but I think you can send the first and koskinen and get it done, don't think you have to add the prospect.

Fleury alone is probably worth the 1st, taking Koskinen as a cap dump and retaining probably moves the needle a little. I could see EDM, COL, WSH, and TOR interested in goaltenders at the deadline.

Why would Toronto be interested in a goalie with Campbell as hot as he is.

I could see them making a buy-low insurance policy trade. Maybe send a conditional mid-rounder to CBJ for Korpi or something like that.

I’d doubt they’d make any big moves at G.

Right, Im not saying hes gonna go out and score tons of goals and make tons of plays, but in terms of what we have, he definitely has the most upside, and hes young enough to the point where you justify playing him over carpenter et al because there COULD be some development there.

Mrazek is out and also very injury prone. Depends on how the season unfolds with injuries and such, but I wouldn't be surprised.
