Don't even need that much for Stetcher. A 3rd or 4th to Detroit will do it.

I think he's trying to dump the cap hit. Either way, Hawks aren't giving up a 4th for a 33 year old bottom 6 guy when the Hawks have plenty of younger guys who are important to the future

the cap hit on the buyout is much worse than retaining half, and would last 6 years instead of 3.
so your option 3.5 for 3 years or
3.66, 2.66 4.66 then 1.66 for 3 additional years?
no the buy out hurts far more.

but to this trade I agree I would rather do the dump, hagelin is a 4 mil dump and were giving up a 2nd.
with him waived it proved no one wants him full price so I think the hope is 2 mil retained for nothing in return or 3.5 for a decent piece in return or buy him out.

Sharks need non-negative value out of Kane if they’re to trade him and we don’t want Schultz back.

If you are trying to dump players the sharks would take hagelin and Schultz with a 2nd and a 3rd round pick and we will give you nieto

Yes, but not pay to do it. Sending the 2nd is paying to retain half. That's not something the team is willing to do as they have already stated if they are retaining half they they won't be sending any sweeteners and they want something of value in return and Schultz is not value for SJ.
