No thanks from NSH. A young center is more valuable to the Preds than a winger. Though the sample size is small, Kravtsov's inability to produce much offense on North American ice is a little concerning too. At least Glass seems to be producing well in MIL, while he rounds out his game there.

You should take a break and try watching Chytil play. It is painful to watch honestly. He makes zero impact on the game and is our weakest link right now.

Namestnikov is having a great year. Can play anywhere in lineup.

You're just proving you haven't watched him. He's playing his best hockey this year.

No hes not. Hes playing his best hockey for himself. He doesnt play with the guys on his line. Hes not making smart plays and not looking for his teammates. Hes still soft, defensively mediocre and the worst faceoff guy in the league.

I think it's a brilliant move, but I'm a Wings fan.

What does Chytil add? He doesn't score, he doesn't hit, he doesn't block shots, he doesn't win face-offs, he doesn't generate scoring opportunities, he doesn't go near the boards, he doesn't defend well. I feel like we have all been on knee-jerk reaction to defend him since he was young kid when he started. But he needs to find his role...and get good at that job.

A little harsh there on Chytl...for sure more is needed from him- wouldn't hurt if the puck found the net on occasion- but since that 3rd line of Chytl/LaF/Gaut has been put together they have generated plenty of big time scoring chances...I've mentioned in numerous threads that patience is required with the young players. And if the NYR keep playing the way they have been- really no reason to not continue to be patient with the young guys on the 3rd line.

Namestikov would actually be a good add to this team for middle 6 help...but only if the cost was in the area of a 4th + a prospect outside their top 10....straight up for Chytl would be a fireable offense- any coincidence the Wings fans that responded want to rush this deal along?

Not harsh, just honest. On current trajectory, where do you see Chytil in 5 years? I used to think a 50-60 point 2c. I'm not so sure anymore. And if he is going to play 3C minutes, I'd like to see more defense, physicality, face-offs, etc.

What gets him fired? If he added Miller, Namestnikov for a playoff run, Glass to eventually replace Miller, we'd be a better team.

Don't love the Miller move- but I see it as acceptable...you do have to give to get...
But if they're going to move Chytl- gotta get way more than a journeyman fwd who will be UFA next summer.
As frustrating as Chytl can be, he does show glimpses of ability to be a star. With his talent and the fact he'll be cost controlled into the distant future, they can't give up on him for a meager return.
Wouldn't mind adding Namestkov though for something like a 4th + Reunanen.

The frustration with Chytl is that although still very young- for all the time he’s had with NYR, we still don’t know what he is…at times he looks destined to be a 1C…other times he looks lost. Part of the reason for this uncertainty is the way he was used under DQ…another reason is the bad luck he’s had with injuries. Yes- he does need to improve defensively, with face offs, etc…that can come with hard work and an opportunity to play. He’ll never be a “banger”- but that doesn’t mean he won’t be difficult to play against should he continue to develop….so back to your question- I can’t tell you what he will eventually be….I just don’t want to give up on him- only to see him become a real good player elsewhere while this team still struggles with the same questions. Patience is key- not time yet to bail on him.
