Why no to Washington? Nieto isn’t great and it’s really just taking on cap to get picks. Two seconds better? It would essentially be 1 year of Hagelin if it’s done at the deadline.

i would prefer to dump cap and trade pieces so we can reset in the offseason. it’s not about Nieto though he is a player who plays a style the team needs at a super affordable cap, i don’t want to tie our hands next year for a 2nd round pick. yes 2020 we got a TON of talent in the 2nd-7th rounds but that’s not always the case.
Kane i’m hoping to dump 30-50% retained to just rid ourselves of him. other than that i’d be happy with the other deals

Washington likely is able to dump Hagelin and/or Kempny for lesser prices elsewhere, so I think DC declines. I don't know if San Jose is super excited about swallowing salary as well.
