Don't hate it as the hawks, I think Kaapo has starter potential and the hawks really need someone to push Commesso in the future.

Only thing I think we will want is a 22' 2nd or prospect due to our shallow prospect pool. There is an oversupply of goalies which can be picked up in the off season on a free or low cost trade.

MAF isn't needed! How do you think the lockerroom will react to it, much less Talbot? There's no reason to trade Kaapo for an older g whose been worse this year, and could bring down Talbot confidence.

Change Carter yo 3rd round pick.

Not enough for MAF. Lankinen/Kappo would be a nice duo though.

MAF and Billy G played together in Pitt so there's a history there. Billy G kicked the tires on MAF before signing talbot and its a cheap price to pay for a guy that certainly gives you significantly more confidince than KK starting a playoff game this year.

Hawks get a goalie with solid upside and a solid bottom 6 center who is signed for next year, maybe billy ups it to a 3rd round pick but this is similar to the deal the hawks got for lehner, who was younger and better at the time.

The pens aren’t trading Carter for less than they traded for him. They likely won’t trade him cause Carter will only play for LA or Pitt.

The Hawks got a 2nd for Lehner. We aren't good, its not about getting a goalie in that will change it, we are going to need to build the prospect pool back up and for this reason, I think the organisation will want a minimum 2nd in the 22' draft in return.

They got a 2nd and Malcom Subban and 1 other throw in guy (I think). KK is equivalent to a 2nd/3rd rounder Freddy G is like a 4th and they get another 4th on top of it. The value is extremely comparable.

Its not necessarily about the value, its more about what we need more and thats higher end picks/prospects. Our forward group of prospects in particular needs some support.

It is about value, your aren’t getting high end prospects or picks for a 37 y/o goalie with a 7M cap hit.

I think you have read that wrong, I don't expect high end prospects. I expect a min 2nd or potentially a 1st for the reigning vezina trophy winning goalie who is standing on his head in front of a poor team. If your not prepared to pay up then no probs, theres plenty of teams out there who will give at least a 2nd in this years draft and that was my point. We need that over roster guys at the moment.
