Youre only allowed 3 retained salaries, you have 6 and all are multiple years.

Gally and Price are talented dont get me wrong, but theres no way you get a real quality return on thse 2 long and expensive contracts. Theres little chance either one sees out the end of those deals and who knows how they'll play year after year. And COL who have tons of UFAS, cap issues are taking anderson and petry (with some retention) for girard? Older and slower?

And all those RFA and UFA guys taking well under value and qualifying numbers, especially debrusk at 2.7mil, who's qualifying offer is 4.5mil?

Wasn’t the trade with Arizona protected? Therefore no Shane Wright

That’s a hard no for the Avs. Anderson sucks and has a contract that was bad the minute it was signed, Poehling is a bottom 6 guy in the NHL and the puck is like an insult. Also the Avs aren’t trading Girard! Girard is better than Jones, makes half as much and Jones fetched 2 1st a 2nd and a top d prospect. Hard no, that has literally been shot down about 40 times not exaggerating.

the petry trade is interesting. it all depends on if the avs think petry is having an off year or if it's just his natural delcine. he just turned 35 today so that worrying. i think avs should pass just because the risk isn't worth it you can still get a good defensmen for $4.25m in the offseason.

the girard trade is an abomination.

The conditions of the Dvorak trade
Better of the 2 picks BUT if either or both picks are top 10, Arizona gets the worse pick

not the fan bases worst attempt but still its just a bunch of stuff with a bad contract in Andersen. Its too long for such an injury prone player

You could probably get an asset for Weber and Byron’s contracts. They won’t officially retire until their contracts expire, that way they can be used for LTIR space.

VGK, TBL, EDM, whoever would probably be willing to part with a mid-rounder just to get the handicap-space.
