You know what sucks;

Guys like Hertl may not get a shot at the Olympics ever again.

Guys like McDavid vs Matthews (CAN vs USA) should be given the showcase of the Olympics.

Players like Vasi, Draisaitl, Makar, McDavid, Matthews etc etc etc etc etc, deserve to play on the big stage and showcase not only their talents but hockey.

We need best on best hockey. It’s the best. The SCF is awesome but I mean… it pales in comparison to a gold medal imo, and that is showcased by how wildly popular the WJ are. The world juniors are one of the biggest tournaments of the year if not the biggest and it’s best on best, country vs country, the pride of winning it all.

I doubt many players would rather a World Cup of Hockey trophy over a World Junior tournament gold. And I know no player values a WCOH over a Olympic medal.

It just blows that we won’t see best on best (the best hockey there is) and that a large chunk of players have just missed their last shot at the Olympics (not just Hertl but hell, Connor ****ing McDavid still hasn’t played in the Olympics…)

I wouldn't worry about Hertl, the Czech Republic still isn't that deep, he'll still be a top 6 forward for that team at 32, and probably still a big member of the team at 36. I'm more worried about Stamkos, who at 36 likely won't be good enough to make the cut on an always deep Canadian team (if his body even stays together that long). It sucks that the 2nd best goal scorer of his generation (and top 5 forward overall) will have never been able to represent his country at the Olympics (inexplicably snubbed in 2010, injured in 2014, NHL skipped 2018 and 2022). Just more reasons to hate Bettman. It disgusts me that one money hungry weasel can deny the world of true best on best hockey. And it doesn't even make sense, the Olympics grow the game far more than two games in Stockholm every year can.

Stamkos is a good one, I couldn’t think of the other names but that’s a big one (only could think of Hertl).

Without looking and what not, Carlson I’d think too. Hard to guess them.

2015 NHL Draft
13th pick - Jakub Zboril - Tears his ACL, Out for the year, 12 career NHL points, 0 goals
14th pick - Jake DeBrusk - Requested trade out of Boston, disappointing year
15th pick - Zach Senyshyn - Requests trade out of Boston, 3 career NHL points

Great drafting

He better keep this streak going or else he'll get sent to the AHL in a few weeks.

If he was a LW might have seen a trade within the week lul

Issue is we got to many RW and by the looks of things Ho-Sang could have a spot for 2022 so if thats the case our RW will be

Marner, Ho-Sang, Kase, Anderson with Nylander finally moving to LW which is probs for the best rn

Canada's still better but our goaltending is becoming concerning, Hart hopefully can fill that role

Are you kidding? We have so many left wings. Him being a right wing arguably makes it better to aquire him.

Not that he's any good or worth paying anything over a 7th for.

mmm We really dont got many top 6 LW or LW who can play at the NHL level.

If you look at the wing Depth Leafs RW depth is much greater than the LW.

LW: Kerfoot, Ritchie, Bunting, Engvall, Clifford, Seney, Robertson

RW: Marner, Nylander, Kase, Mikheyev, Spezza, Simmonds, Anderson, Steeves, Ho-Sang (once he signs an NHL deal)

So from that we can see the Leafs have plenty of RW but not alot of LW especially ones who can play top 6 as of those 7 only 2 realistically can do a proper job in the top 6.

So yeah Senyshyn really does not work for us as if we look at the RW depth he really has no spot. But as I said before if he was a LW there would be a chance.
