I don't think Fox played for Team USA

Troy Terry, Will Borgen, Ryan Donato, and Jordan Greenway were the college players that played for USA

Yeah saw this earlier. Apparently ~16mil in extra costs came up (ROW issues and environmental stuff) and the city told the Flames to cover ~10mil of them. Which is a huge difference in a 650mil project of course.

Lol it’s not that bad, it’s honestly probably just a negotiation tactic. This building is really good for Calgary as a city and the Flames just don’t want to be on the hook for the majority of it when they don’t even own it (at least I’m pretty sure the city will own it).

I think as long as fans can attend, the NHL might, good way to make up lost revenue and the players who wanted to participate in the Olympics can get an event that's similar in prestige

You know what sucks;

Guys like Hertl may not get a shot at the Olympics ever again.

Guys like McDavid vs Matthews (CAN vs USA) should be given the showcase of the Olympics.

Players like Vasi, Draisaitl, Makar, McDavid, Matthews etc etc etc etc etc, deserve to play on the big stage and showcase not only their talents but hockey.

We need best on best hockey. It’s the best. The SCF is awesome but I mean… it pales in comparison to a gold medal imo, and that is showcased by how wildly popular the WJ are. The world juniors are one of the biggest tournaments of the year if not the biggest and it’s best on best, country vs country, the pride of winning it all.

I doubt many players would rather a World Cup of Hockey trophy over a World Junior tournament gold. And I know no player values a WCOH over a Olympic medal.

It just blows that we won’t see best on best (the best hockey there is) and that a large chunk of players have just missed their last shot at the Olympics (not just Hertl but hell, Connor ****ing McDavid still hasn’t played in the Olympics…)

As a Finn I'm currently not sure whether our chances for the Olympic gold just got better or worse after NHL pulling out, because our roster would be better than ever with NHL talent, but our opponents (especially NA ones) are going to be significantly weaker without NHL players...naturally that applies to our team as well.

Edit: my understanding of these stats are that it’s the number of times people opened CF per City during the year so to be high, the city would need either many users who check occasionally or a couple users who check in wayyyy too much
