Just trade for Reilly Smith. Another Gallant guy. Cheaper (Cap hit and in assets needed to acquire). Expiring Contract. Makes more sense.

They've been kicking ass with their current lineup. Don't need to trade all their blue chip prospects for the bigger name when lesser options will do just as good.

I don't think its overwhelming enough for a legend like Kane. At half price nonetheless.

If Kane is getting traded, there's more than enough value.
This isn't prime Kane being untouchable, so you have to overpay to get him.

After bringing Calder, Pearson, Hart, Conn Smythe, Art Ross trophies, three Stanley Cups to Chicago....yeah, I don't think its enough.
He is one of the legends of the game.

Actually this kinda is prime Kane almost. He’s like Ovie. He keeps growing and find new ways to score while not losing a step on his go to weapons. Kane barely snipes anymore and now he’s a god at goal feeding passes. And idc what you think. Kane and Panarin with any decent center man is just as scary as McDavid Draisaital.

This isn’t really the package I would want for Kane TBH. A couple of underperforming guys, a solid but not guaranteed hit prospect, and a late first for two seasons of Patrick Kane at 5,250?

There is absolutely a lot of value in this package, but I think bundling them together diminishes that value from the hawks point of view.

I mean...Kaapo is still a really really good prospect. I know the NYR are messing up his development and they should have kept him in juniors (or where ever, but not the NHL). Give KK some real ice time so he can develop. I'd rather have my #2 OA pick get 21 ATOI in juniors than 14 ATOI in the NHL. He needed to be put in pressure situations and he doesn't get that with the NYR. Come to the Hawks and get that ice time.
