Sens would need to add at least a 2nd or 3rd rounder along with Zub for sure

How many times a week are you going to send jt to Minnesota, and how many times are Minnesota fans and Canucks fans like yourself going to disagree on this, and say no?

The fact he has 1 year left Ottawa would need to add but can’t see his extension being over 5 mill for 6 years. He’s also a defensive top pairing Dman perfect for a guy like Hughes. I think Ottawa has to add but not much

Probably less than you'll post saying the Wild say no.

Don't you think they'd consider unloading Connolly's buried penalty?

DAL declines. I prefer Hakanpää over Hamonic both as a player and a contract.

Oh Hamonic is very much a better player than Hakanpaa, that's not up for debate. Hakanpaa's contract is in no way a bargain

Yes but we aren’t adding Conor Murphy to it

What's the point of holding onto Murphy if the team isn't winning right now?

Don’t forget the no trade clause if I had to guess he wouldn’t waive for Vancouver

Zub, Artem
2022 3rd round pick (VAN)
OTT
Boeser, Brock [RFA Rights]

This is interesting. Everyone values scoring forwards pretty high, but a 2/3 defenceman that's a right shot has a lot of value as well. The age difference is 17 months, not bad since defence usually take longer to develop.

The problem is, Boeser is having a really bad season, He has 3 points in 24 games at 5v5. That's one goal and two secondary assists. He's been DuClair after Christmas bad. He also makes $7.5MM this season, and that's his QO since he's an RFA this next offseason.

The Sens are waiting on Sanderson to solidify their top4, but removing Zub calls that top4 back into question.

If it's the 18/19 thru 20/21 Boeser, it's a fair deal, but I'm not sure it's the smart move by Ottawa. Dorion would get roasted, and then fired, if Boeser has turned into DuClair.

Boeser has looked better since the coaching change, and I don't think enough time has elapsed for his value to really decline quite frankly, and I think Boeser has better hockey sense than Duclair, so I don't see a second coming of that happening

Call me biased, but I think a lot of Vancouver's support pieces don't get the respect they deserve, and that should change now that the team looks to be turning things around, even if it's too late to save their season

That was a Sens comparison, meant to elicit those memories.

This is just one season, and really just 1/3 of a season, so it's too early to make rash judgements, but there are red flags, that's all. My biggest issue with Boeser is that he plays soft. It's nice to have skill, but there has to be some grit too. I hope he's not becoming a PP specialist.

He's good on the powerplay, but he's no Mike Hoffman if that's what you mean. Boeser isn't a defensive liability and he's not that soft actually, you'd really like him
