It's weird cause I don't see Vegas trading for a C with Eichel/Karlsson/Stephenson/Roy

He’s a better winger imo but even then VGK is set there.

I don't see either team accepting those trades. Also, Malkin isn't coming here, especially on a 1 year deal...

Agreed, but I'm pretty sure it would be easier to offer sheet him for $4.1mil and hope Vegas takes the 2nd as compensation. Asking for the trade first is just common courtesy, but there's a malicious backup plan...

I pray Anaheim does exactly that!

Wouldn’t mind Anaheim trading them the 2022 2nd and another pick or player or potentially both for his rights either

I'd have to think that PHI would trade Sanheim, but not for that....

And undrafted 25 yr old and a late 2nd?

Sanheim gets more than that....DET 2nd and a high prospect would be closer

There are going to be a lot of teams interested in Hague. I saw it as paying a little bit more in order to guarantee his rights

Next year they won’t… assuming Hague leaves, they’d have to let Riley Smith go by de facto. Unless he doesn’t ask for too much (nothing more than what he currently makes), he’s probably gone. They could ship off Dadonov. Roy is likely gone if they sign Smith as well. Wing depth looks very weak on that left side in particular once you think about the cap situation. Plus Vegas has one of two options: have a leafs-esque offense where you’re relying on 4 guys if you keep Hague, OR get offersheeted and lose everything. They could let Dadonov Broissoit Smith and Roy go if they wanted Hague, but that doesn’t seem smart to me

I would have used Detroit’s second and probably should have but 1) Sanheim blows defensively and 2) he’s a UFA in 2023 and is already getting paid more than he should. Between Risto and Sanheim, Risto is better for the Flyers. It is fully possible that he just doesn’t re-sign lol, but I agree that he would get more even though he really shouldn’t be worth all that much. While he’s still young, he’s not getting better
