Rangers decline. Kubalik's next contract will probably be one the Rangers cannot afford at the moment. Center whether it is resigning Strome or acquiring one is going to be a bigger priority.

@gofnut999 is right. The defensemen swap in the BOS trade will be the reason it doesn't get accepted. Simplify the deal with Debrusk and Strome, if you feel there needs to be an exchange of picks (I dont really honestly) then fine. But Gryz in my mind holds more value compared to Gustafsson, then Strome holds compared to Debrusk if that makes sense.

significantly more value than gustafsson. its really not even close. why does everyone keep trying to do strome for debrusk. kid can barely center a 3rd line nevermind a 2nd line. this would be bruins going backwards not forwards.

Strome wouldn't be the guy i would target either. I see the why some like it and i understand why its out there, but I am just not sure he would be great fit.

I dont see him being a bruin, i dont see him being better than coyle. if we are going to move debrusk we should package up for a legit 2c and slide coyle down or to rw.

i really dont mean any offense here, but i dont know if the leafs would take calvin de Haan for free if you were giving him away.
I certainly cannot find anything that would indicate that he with no retention is worth a 1st in any capacity.

Easier said than done. If you find that legit 2C that is going to be a lot of "up". If the "up" is Lysell or 2022 1st then no.

other ways of getting a 2c without downgrading the roster.

How? If Lysell and 2022 first are out of the equation how do you get a 2C without downgrading the roster? A miracle return by Krejci or an even bigger miracle ascension by Studnicka are all I can come up with.

you trade other prospects and debrusk etc. we have a ton of other prospects. youre looking for a 2c. doesnt need to be long term. a rental 2c can come cheap... jeff carter last year to the pens.
