Both of them cost a 1st+, Laine I'd say is 1st + prospect at least, Chychrun, 1st, prospect + another 1st/prospect

1st + Bolduc for Laine,
1st + Raty + Bellows for Chychrun maybe based on A_Habs_fan's values

Combined, they'd cost pretty much the entire future. A large majority of it, at least.

Chychrun might even be worth more imo

Laine <--> Wahlstrom + 3rd
Chychrun <--> Dobson + 1st

Chycrun should be untouchable

Chychrun: Wahlstrom, Raty, 2022 1st (top 5 protected), 2023 2nd or 3rd

Laine: 2023 1st, Holmstrom, Bailey, Koivula

That's assuming they go out and get both. But basically Chychrun is worth about 2.5-3 1sts and Laine is worth 2 1sts

Honestly that’s exactly what I thought Chychrun’s value was. It’s a little ridiculous to expect the Islanders to give that much but a top LD on a cheap deal for years to come

Isles aren’t getting either player because they’d ask for Wahlstrom or Dobson who are both untouchable

Pretty much, which is why it makes no sense to trade for either of them. Chychrun was solid last season, but not enough people are talking about how bad he’s been this year. Being on a bad team isn’t a good excuse considering Ghost is having a career year.

Laine’s reputation > impact. He’s pretty much another mike Hoffman who will always have a negative impact at even strength and be an empty calorie scorer

Too true, Chychrun is great but this season he's been absolutely abysmal. Like you said, the bad team angle isn't a good enough excuse when he's still somehow one of the worst performing players on that bad team. I think teams should hold off on trying to get him until they see him start playing like we know he can.
