Oh, also, i have a question. What do we do if someone actually makes a trade?
Well, you're the commissioner aren't you?
Simple: have both parties post they have agreed to a trade, and on both armchair-gm teams, have the users submit the trades, that way people can follow the moves
Ok. How about if someone actually makes a trade, any previous trades made on this are removed?
Just checking with everyone who's playing so that i make sure everyone is happy with this.
Also, if you want to you can pick a team to be, but you don't have to if you don't want to.

Yeah, that's the way it's done. Rangersandislesfan I think you have helped this site by incorporating this idea. It's much more fun to do a GM game this time of year where you're talking to other GM's and making consensual trades, then just doing your own little armchair-gm thread, Not really knowing if someone who roots for the trade your trading with would accept the trade. At the end of the day I feel like a moron for not coming up with this first, given that I've been apart of it for a different sport. Great job dude!

What I think you may want to do once this gets up and running is make threads for particular UFA's. Like T.J. Oshie for example would have a UFA thread where a Team's GM would bid how much they would pay him in order to see who would end up with him. I think you want to hold the Draft first and it's a ways away until we hear who wins the lottery, but then you hold your GM Game Draft and then you hold Free Agency so people get to feel what its like to run a team.

Oh, i'm not sure if you guys understood the question. I mean what if a real trade happens in the NHL?

Yeah, this is a good idea. I think maybe we should make a rule which is no trades and no free agent signings yet. Once the season ends, non playoff teams can make trades, and at the draft, we can draft, and at free agency we can sign free agents. That's just what i think though. Do you like that idea?

GMS are stuck with the team they have when they created their armchair-gm, I know a couple of you have already created your teams, but in my opinion you should all hold off until you have enough GMS for the game

I think you have to do it before. Like When the season ends early June, you start the Draft a couple days later. And then a few weeks later you do the free agency. That way we get all our movement before the actual teams do anything. Once the real GM's start doing stuff we're all going to be pulled back to reality and care less about this game. But The game will be strong starting probably the day after the Cup Winning game. That's when things should commence and you should have your 31 GM's and trades should be able to take place and the Draft should happen about a week later and then Free Agency a week after that.

Ok then, we can have cap, but do you think we could increase the salary cap?
Yeah we should play that the players association uses the escalator which moves it up 3 million I think. I think that's what happens, not totally sure but I read somewhere that there was a good chance that was going to happen and the cap increases about 3 million dollars. That would allow people to make more maneuvers to better their team.
Hickey's salary in below 3mil a year. Any offers on him? Or are you not interested in any of the NYI D-Men?

If they make a separate section for us and they let you advertise there's no way it won't happen imo. Lots of people come here and make mocks.
Quick question for the bruins GM in this game: Is Spooner available?
Spooners not available unless its for a great player like John Tavares. Spooner is an up and comer who was one of the best 3rd line centers in the league last year scoring 49 points with freakin Matt Beleskey and Jimmy Hayes as his wings most of the time. This year he's stumbled a bit, but he's had crappy line mates again most of the year. If we put real players with him he'd probably score 50 points atleast.

Ok, you can be dallas.
You don't have to make an armchair-gm team on the moves you've made, but i would prefer it if you did. you don't need to though.
So yes, i gave you dallas.

I'm not even in this but I'm sorry what?
Did you just say that he isn't available only unless Tavares is coming back the other way?
So what you're telling me is that Sweeney can just offer Spooner to the Isles for Tavares???

A decent 2/3rd liner for a franchise C? Yeah ok.
You don't have to but if you want to you can join the game.
