Thought I should make this clear for people in case they don't understand or it isn't clear enough. Waivers and Buyouts are separate.
You can place up to 3 players on waivers for buyout purposes, but you are not obligated to buy those players out after they clear waivers.
If you have players you are willing to give up (you'll get no compensation for them), you can place them on waivers at this time and allow them to be claimed by another team. One man's trash is another man's treasure. This may redistribute some useful players as well as give teams a possible way of relieving cap.
Once the waiver claims are sorted, you will have the option of buying out any of those 3 players that remain on your team, or keeping them on your roster.
If you elect to perform any buyouts prior to free agency, only the players you submitted will be eligible. If you acquire a player that was waived by someone else, you will not be able to buy that player out. You have had the opportunity to acquire that player either through trade or waivers prior to this point, so any such deals should be resolved prior to waivers.
Each team will be able to carry a maximum of 3 buyouts on their roster. If you already have IRL buyouts on your roster, those count towards your limit of 3.* *Exception: Players who have been bought out and are reflected on your roster due to an IRL action at the end of this season, do not count (ie: Girardi). This is a flaw in the system that doesn't work well with our game and these buyouts have been appearing on our rosters without our knowledge. These will be corrected when we reach the UFA budget process.
I think that's it, but as always, ask questions beforehand instead of complaining after the fact.
P.S. It should go without saying, but you cannot re-acquire a player you have bought out. It would be either Jan 1st or 1 year before you could re-acquire that player. I'd have to check to see which one it is.
I presume there is no limit to the amount of players that you can place on waivers?

For free agency purposes the limit is 3. We'll discuss regular season waivers when the time comes.
Not sure what you mean, as it says a maximum of 3 players on waivers in the rules?

Girardi shouldn't have been bought out if you ask me.
I may be wrong, but as Foo was a free agent and no team ever held his rights, he would become a free agent who you could bid on
But he can only sign an ELC, so how does that work? There could be a 31-way tie for first
We would use the waiver order as the tiebreaker. The waiver order is based on the second round of the draft. If you choose to then evoke your waiver priority, you'd move to the end of the list. If not, the next team in order gets the chance to use their priority

Same for Cal Petersen too
Exactly. If you want to bid on those players and others, you could do so in FA. And if you happen to be the only person to bid on a player...he's yours, without having to evoke waiver priority
Just a heads up to the Board of GM's I will not be able to visit this site from July 8th - July 22nd (two weeks). So I'll need someone to cover for me on the Montreal thread. I was hoping Done95 could do it, as he is my AGM and is on board with me on what I want with our team. Also he's shown me he knows what he's doing, and I fully trust him to make good trades and improve our team. July 8th is still a ways away, but I just wanted you guys to know, and I hope Done95 can get the job.

Hey Daryl, thanks for the heads up. That's the beauty of having an AGM you trust is that they can fill in for you while you'll be away. Maybe also post this in the BOG thread so it's easier for us to see. Again, thanks for the notice.

The old thread page I made won't let me edit the team anymore so I will be recreating the team and adding the new page shortly. Since I made the trade for Galchenyuk I need to edit the roster and I can't as the page gets frozen every time.
Just so ya'll know, I am able to make a separate armchair GM roster so the "kill switch" hasn't been hit yet. Idk if my page corrupted or what happened but I'll post the new thread ASAP.

You should report it just in case. It may have repercussions elsewhere that you aren't aware of and Banks generally wants these things reported.
Better to let him know than not let him know and have an undetected bug in the system.
Pominville is available for a 3rd round pick + an unwanted player of similar or less value/term, if someone is considering a buyout or Pominville is an upgrade to the player you want to move, contact me in Colorado.
Hayes is similarly available for a late pick + unwanted player.
As long as the cap is close and it isn't a longer contract, I'm willing to take pretty much anyone in order to add a pick in each case.
Except for those two players, I'm closing shop for a bit. I'll still listen, but likely won't be making other moves or offers.

Mike Cammalleri was bought out IRL but i plan on keeping him in the game, he was deleted from my team so i recreated him but it still shows in the buyout section that he is bought out, just didnt want to confuse anybody
