Kind of the same thing as the 3 team trades you see. Not all that uncommon in real life.
pretty uncommon
I think it's fantasy. Happens maybe once a year at most, but on here it's happening frequently. Also people are going crazy making deals just to make deals instead of really picking a direction and really seeing the intangibles that certain veterans might bring. No-one would go to war with a bunch of young guys and no veteran core, that's like throwing the young guys to the wolves and going for the record of most losses. But your omitting the fact that your owner would fire you in 1 year if you put a team on the ice that couldn't compete, he'd be forced to. It's like people aren't taking into account ticket sales, revenue, intangibles, leadership and compete. Nobody is going to come to see your team if you trade all of your players in one year. They'll think your an eccentric nut job who clearly avoided creating a strong vision of the team, and incorporating it over time.
Pretty much everyones roster is going to look completely different with no cohesion which kinda cheapens the integrity of this game. This has turned into one of those mocks where a person trades half the team or more for picks and prospects and when you read it you're like this guy has his head in the clouds and is thinking of a completely fictional process that would never happen which in the end just makes it kinda silly.
I wish people would be more realistic and when you make a trade state your vision or what you are doing and why you are doing it and the direction you are going in. Having like 10 trades sending out a player who's lets say a 3rd line grinder left wing and then trading for a 3rd line grinder left wing 3 trades later who's basically the same thing you traded is just like wow....
Well yeah, none of this stuff would ever happen in real life. It's kind of a cash grab for all your favorite players.
I guess I just expected people to take this seriously and accept their role, pick a vision and business model and do everything in their will to see it out. Even if your rebuilding teams don't make more than 3 or 4 trades of aging veterans for prospects and picks. Otherwise you completely alienate the fanbase and they don't even know who to root for anymore. You think your going to sell any merchandise? Noones going to buy any Jerseys because the guy might be traded 2 days after you acquire him. I guess I just expected a higher level of intelligence and a greater dose of realism in this game. I guess maybe my expectations were too high and I should have just seen this coming. However I'm not admitting being wrong in thinking that you could all conduct yourselves like real GM's and make tangible trades that make sense to everyone and lead to a path of clairvoyance. I still believe you all have that deep inside you, but it's just easier to do this to satisfy yourself and your own personal wishes instead of taking on the burden of doing things your fans or even the rest of the people on this site who's team your representing in this game.
I think ive done a good job. Freed up cap and got rid of maatta who could of been taken in expansion, and dealed with fleury. Also picked up 2 2nds
Yeah, but the majority of teams have 5 trades already. At this pace entire teams are going to be traded. It's just kinda weenie in my opinion. The same thing as when a person trades everyone for picks and prospects and clearly makes a team that just wouldn't win. I don't know how people plan to keep things going when the owner has to smack you in the face with an obligatory firing because your team isn't winning. We all know with all the picks and prospects you've assembled your team could win a cup in 5 years, but we're also very aware that you will not be the BM anymore when they win it, because you will be let go for making a team that's not competitive currently and in the near future. GM's don't get 10 years to turn things around, that's just wishful thinking. At most you get 3 years and you better make the playoffs in the 3rd year.
The fact some gm are using 16-17 rosters and some 17-18 is complicating things...You have gm trying to get something for Ufa that we aren't allowed to resign based on the rules...
RFA's are fine, # 's just have to be ok'ed. When I posted all my minor league signings nobody even cared to respond. The small amount of money shouldn't be a big deal I guess
I have my GM in 2016-17, but I have so much there that I just don't want to do it again. If I really have to then I will but I won't trade any impending UFA's. I might have traded one, which was Sustr, so yeah.
That aside;
I have a couple of A/A+ prospects I am willing to trade because of the fact that I am going through an overload there.
One of Merkley (A+), or Roy (A) is available. Jake Bean is available (A+). I might have Chychrun (A+) available depending on others.
If anybody wants to shoot me an offer on either these players or the players that I have posted in my description according to their level, come shoot me an offer!
Looking for good 3rd pairing RHD and 3rd pairing LHD on ELC
Sorry, mouse slipped, I may have a guy who's not on ELC, but could be a 3rd pair guy in Joe Morrow. I think i resigned him at 2 years 2 million no bonus'.
Inquiring about cost of re-signing wennberg is. Possible contracts include 4x3, 5.5x6, and 6x8. If anyone objects to any of these three, let me know and we can discuss it. NOTE: This is just to determine how much it'll cost to re-sign him, this does NOT mean he is staying put or getting traded. Still happy to listen to offers.

With the year Wennberg is having, I see him being signed to a 6 Mil per, 5 Year contract. 60 point year is nothing to scoff at
