Samorukov is a much better prospect.

Samorukov would be a redundant piece to our team because we have a massive surplus of LDs.

He would also not be of the same quality as a late 1st round pick from a recent draft like in the Coleman trade.

The 1st round pick is the starting point and then Edmonton needs to add that second piece like in the Coleman trade.

This is what we might find acceptable without taking away any pieces currently in the Oilers' lineup right now:

1. Philip Broberg
2. Dylan Holloway
3. Raphael Lavoie
4. Xavier Bourgault
5. Another late 1st round pick
6. An early 2nd round pick



You would also need to keep Kassian.
