What has DeBrusk done to warrant anything more than being traded straight-up for Kassian, nevermind a first and a fourth?

DeBrusk is no longer a fit for the Oilers and that's okay.

Do you really think Ottawa is going to pay 50% of a $4,850,000 salary for a 4th? This isn't happening

Well, the thing about trades is you can’t just say, “here’s what we want to give you,” and expect anything to happen. Bruins have negative interest in kassian.

For all the hoopla about debrusk playing at the bottom of his range, he’s still on like an 18 goal per 82 pace. He’s what? 24? That doesn’t stink.

That’s a pretty tough deal for Edmonton.

From what he’s shown the last 2 seasons, I don’t think he’s earned that deal. I wouldn’t want to be tied to that for another 4 seasons.

I’m not really interested in DeBrusk. The only deal I’d consider would be something like Kassian + 3rd, which I don’t expect Boston to love unless “apparent toughness” is something they are looking for.

Aside from that, no real interest in the player, especially for a 1st round pick

It's hyperbole, I would hope the Bruins don't take Kassian one-for-one. Equivalently, the Oilers should have negative interest in DeBrusk. 18 goals is a fine total, but not without being more than the forward version of Barrie and costing nearly $5M on his qualifying offer.

For what it's worth I do believe a DeBrusk-to-Edmonton should have Kassian as a part of the return, but he'd hardly be all the Bruins get in the deal.

“The forward version of Barrie,” makes it seem like you haven’t seen debrusk play much.

I think the bruins actively don’t want kassian. He detracts from any value that edmonton offers.

Do I need to watch every game to understand that he doesn't backcheck or hit? Of course I don't watch DeBrusk play. I barely have time to watch the Oilers never mind justify why his CF% is sub-50%. He's a one-dimensional $5M bottom-of-the-roster option. Walks like a Barrie, talks like a Barrie, you follow?

Totally understand the Kassian bit but the Oilers can't afford DeBrusk without Zack going east. Neither team wants this deal.

1. Not $5M
2. The CF% pretty much backs up what i just said.

He obviously doesn't know who the owner is in OTT, No way they are paying money for a pick unless it is a high 1st rounder. LOL

What an annoying ad. This site isn't a click and read, there's a lot of navigating from page to page, and having an expanding ad with every navigation is, probably going to reduce your site traffic. Beside contract info, there's not much else here beyond chatting with others. Making money, that's fine, but expanding ads on every navigation, poor decision.

Hockey content, DeBrusk isn't a fit for any team

I'm not in charge of the advertising here. Take it up with Banks in one of the site forums.
