a late 1st, a good prospect and a dman who we probably will not have space for. Beau is great when on form, he's had his struggles but the isles have been crap this year. he's the same age as marner, known for scoring timely goals and is extremely versatile. He is practically a lock for 30-35 goals on that Matthews line. He can play pk, a shutdown role and is dependable in the playoffs. This year is practically all or nothing for this core so it is a worth while investment imo

I don’t understand why Toronto fans think we are going to be taking on contracts.

Things to know as a fan of any team but Toronto. 1) your defenseman will always be perceived as better than ours. 2) you will take a cap dump at any time. 3) we will always acquire your 2nd or third best players for next to nothing. 4) we still aren’t as bad as Oiler fans.
