Hard decline for oilers. Oilers need dmen badly. Why would they trade out their most defensively consistent d they just signed. Also. No one is taking that price contract off your hands. And all these trades are horrendous. You are dumb if you think you can trade the canes pick to Arizona for your pick back. Your pick will be 2-5 and canes will be 24-32.

the condition on the pick was that the coyotes get the worse pick between the habs and hurricanes (hurricanes pick)

Forget evaluating the level of equality with each of the trades, you know the real reason why this scenario doesn't work? Teams are only allowed to retain salary on a maximum of two players simultaneously

I believe it's 3 retention slots at one time. But still the point is valid enough.

Yes only three retention spots, and yours are almost all long term....

Who knows what Price comes back from LTIR? Last season he was pretty meh until the playoffs. Theres little chance he plays out that contract, and even with 3.5mil retained, do you think EDM has that money going forward?

Gallagher is getting paid for the player hes been. His "game" does not promise long term investment and even now in MTL they are paying him 6.5mil as a 3rd liner. You will never get his value in trade.

As for Drouin, I cant see him getting his value back either. Hes a tough move, because of his 1 way game, but mainly because of his mercurial presence, sometimes hes there, sometimes hes not, read an article about MTL possibly benching him the other day (that also recognized hes one of their few performers).

Overall those are players MTL should move, I just dont think theres a huge market for those four bigger pieces (lehkonen as well), and I don;t think any are in high demand, partly due to the player and partly due to salary and partly due to the fact that alot of teams are capped out.
