Kid has had an interesting career so far. Hopefully he can stay healthy. When he is this contract is fantastic.

It's nice to get the uncertainty about Fabbri's future with the Wings cleared up, and this contract is a pretty nice deal for both the player and the team. As a great middle-six scorer and an even better guy, it's awesome to see that Fabbs will be here for the foreseeable future.

I wanted more term or a bridge, but this is fine.

What do you mean bridge? This contract extension kicks in at age 26. Do you mean the bridge to retirement?

Slight overpay here, his QO on term deal looked like his value to me.

I honestly feel it would have been better to trade him at the deadline as to me this seems like an overpay.

Detroit doesn't need to trade their roster players for picks anymore, they just need time for their prospects to grow. Beside its not like they don't have the money.

Don't get me wrong Steve Y. is a good GM, but is this Yzerman's first L in Detroit ?

Seems a bit high but not crazy. Fairly low risk with the short term and no no-move or heavy signing bonuses. They’ve got him locked up for what should be his best three years.
