I mean it's not a bad suggestion, but you're really overpaying the players for their term.

Why not? It would be the biggest contract he's ever signed, and its not like he's been in top form this year.

That and the goalie market is going to be pretty weak this year. Lots available and not many teams looking.

Reason you overpay for shorter term is because you're going to need big money for Laine, Trouba, Morrisey, Ehlers, Connor, Roslovic, in the next 2-4 years so as it is, guys will need to be moved out to make room.
