Seems like this should be a forum post, but here we go!

He wasn't likely to be in the NHL in the next few years anyhow and he'll probably make more in the KHL for now, so good for him. He'll be 21 when his new deal ends so if he stays in the KHL past this deal, that's a different story imo..

This is the correct take. Would have been nice to bring him over but this doesn’t change his timeline at all. The Wild will need to show him there is a spot on the big club in 2024 to have a shot of avoiding Kap 2.0…

Considering that's the last year of the huge Parise/Suter dead cap, he'll have a good chance to come into the NHL since they'll need cheap players.
