Blues signed him a week ago and already traded him?

Lol is this the record for the fastest trade for a player signed as UFA?

When was the last time "Future Considerations" turned into something relevant?

The NHL should just get rid of future considerations. It’s literally nothing.

They were once a better result than now. Back in the 90's Robyn Regehr was a future consideration when the Avs got Theo Fleury from Flames.

Nowadays the mentality is more GM's want to now right away what they get for upper NHLers

I think the Blues just needed him as a temp when Binnington and Husso were out, but it seems strange that they would extend him if that was what they had in mind. Did that make him more valuable to the Devils or less?

The guy stands on his head and almost steals a game in overtime only to be betrayed by a rookie mistake resulting in a penalty shot by Anaheim's best goal scorer, and this is his reward?

I was thinking they might claim Khudobin off waivers, but this should suffice with Bernier out. But, the Devils defensive play has been so atrocious of late that I'm not really sure it matters who they have goal right now.

They have no cap for him with Binny back, no room for him in the AHL and he'd have to clear waivers anyway.

They didn't extend him. He left the team after last season and was with the Flyers' AHL team on a PTO when they plucked him back.

That's the whole point of future considerations.

I guess at one point future considerations was actually something, but right now it means you gave up nothing.

That’s true, the only reason “Future Considerations” are being traded so much is because they’re not defined by the NHL or the CBA.
