What does Kampf do for the Sabres? I'd rather have a draft pick or two, if anything the Sabres are in need of right shot D-men and maybe extends Miller - Here are the Sabres major needs - a 1C, right shot D-men, more grit and big physical players overall, a few mentors who still play the game at a high level, another quality goaltender - Things the Sabres have all they need of, left-shot D-men, small skilled forwards (unless of the super-star variety) , 3Cs and 4Cs , low quality goal-tenders.

He's a solid PK center and prevents us playing quality young talent on the 4th line. I disagree that we need RHD if Dahlin is gonna move to his "natural" right side.(he claims he prefers the right side). Add in Jokiharju and Pysyk who has absolutely shown he's worth resigning and you're set there. Even without the Chychrun trade, having Power, Samuelsson, Johnson, and Bryson makes a Dahlin switch to the right side seem inevitable. A star 1C is always ideal, keeping cap space to give MacKinnon a max deal in two years would be my play personally... mentors are boring.
