Philly could be a good destination for Kane at 50%, (if they move JVR), but not sure PHI moves picks or prospects for him....JVR (who's now scoring and is a reliable 20-25goal guy) and a couple midlevel prospects like Hogberg, Ustimenko, Ronnie Attard, Mason Millman or Jay O'brien for Kane and 50% retention probably works....?

Or if Simek is just a cap dump: simek and kane with 50% retention on kane for JVR and a 6th

Or some sort of a LaBanc and Kane at 50% retention for JVR and Koneckny?

From an Oilers perspective, I take that deal every time. I probably even do it with a 2nd going out and no 5th coming back.

That trade with Edmonton is REALLY not good for San Jose. Really not good.

If the Sharks want to compete (which I think is a possibility), Barabanov in the top 6 is not a viable option
