2021-22 TDL

Created by: swinny
Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 15, 2021
Published: Dec. 16, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
EDM
  1. Brassard, Derick
Additional Details:
Oilers need a 3C, and Brassard fits the bill.
PHI
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (EDM)
2.
EDM
  1. Boyd, Travis
Additional Details:
Boyd comes in as a fireplace for the 4th line. Yes, he has struggled to stick in the NHL, but whenever given the opportunity, the guy produces. Will provide some offensive flair and energy.
ARI
  1. Marody, Cooper
Additional Details:
I kind of like Marody, but, the Oilers have a number of prospects that project to fill out bottom 6 roles, so I would say he is expendable.

Since it is hard to gauge what Boyd is really worth (I would say a 5th), I think Marody, and where he is in his development, has more value to the Yotes right now.
3.
EDM
  1. Kulak, Brett ($900,000 retained)
  2. 2022 4th round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Word is the Oilers are looking for LD depth, and Kulak, whose game is very economical, fits nicely. Does all the little things right, and capable of logging more that bottom pairing minutes if need be. Extremely underrated.

Just don't feel a need to go big game hunting here, Kulak is more than capable.
MTL
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Kulak's trade value is a question mark, but I would suggest it to be a 4th rounder. Rather than do that, a pick flip made more sense as not to leave the organization thin at the draft. Even with salary retention, the Habs should accept this, moving up 2 rounds.

Habs would take that for sure, Kulak is also a very good skater which would fit in with the Oilers team.

Agreed. I like Kulak as a linger term fit with the Oil too.
