Scheifele needs a Center to actually win some draws and defensively responsible player on line, leaves all the other lines intact with a straight trade of wheeler and Gus. I’m just hoping they give Gus a proper opportunity over minimal minutes with grinders or pressbox. Definitely not happening, but just an opinion what I would do

he's a two-way forward though and doesn't produce a whole lot offensively. I would start him on the 4th line and see how he does. I think the best and most likely scenario is that he eventually becomes a solid 3c who has no real weaknesses. That could happen next week or in a couple seasons.

I stand by what I said. His job wasn't in danger at all. He wasn't going to get fired until the end of the year, when his contract status was a team option to extend it for another season. Chevy wasn't firing him.
