avs aren't in the market for cap dumps. suzuki or caufield+ would both work.

1. I thought trading Domi and a 3rd for Anderson was bad.

2. I thought signing Anderson to this massive contract 2 days later was bad.

3. I thought doing so after he was coming off of a long absence due to a shoulder injury was bad.

4. I thought doing so after he went from 27 goals and a +25 in 2018-2019 to just 1 goal and a -8 in 2019-2020 with Columbus was especially bad.

5. I think Ottawa spending a 2nd on someone who is at a high risk of becoming a cap dump is bad.

6. And I think spending a 2nd on what is essentially a pet project of Marc Bergevin is not only bad ...

But unforgivable.

Ottawa declines

Try again

That’s still a no from COL. What is so hard to understand that there is no way the Avs trade a 23yr top pairing caliber dman through the prime of his career who still makes less than a 34yr old Price on a 50% retention. You aren’t getting a tangible asset for Price much less somebody like Girard. Ridiculous.

Easy no from the Avs. In no world does Price net you Girard.

Monahan sucks hard pass. 6m 3rd line center that only scores on the power play. I wouldn’t trade Eller 1 for 1 for him. He’s worth maybe a 2nd if the flames retain 50%.

Its hard for MTL fans to think of Price as carrying little equal value...but at his age, present state of mind, contract length and size you don;t get much value for him.

Hes been great in the playoffs (until he faces Vasilevsky or Hart the past 2 seasons), but he wasnt great during the season and who knows if he comes back the same after his "break".

Take out Girard or trade value and think even Price at 5.25mil for 4 yrs is not a great investment.

Im actually a VAN fan but I wanted to try MTL because they seem like such an interesting challenge. Finals last year, bottom feeder this year, and now starting a rebuild when they have all these big long term contracts like Price, Anderson, and Gallagher to deal with.
