Created by: matteot94
Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 17, 2021
Published: Dec. 17, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
might have to give up more in zona deal and the kraken one but nothing crazy only slight increases in trade value.

first 2 fwd lines can act as 2 first lines and play similar mins 18-20ish mins a night and the bottom 6 can be rolled out as 2 3rd lines playing 10-12 mins a night

nurse and chych should play bulk of mins but not overplayed like how nurse is rn bouh will get a lot too keith and ceci should play max 18 mins a night

goaltending a big question just gotta see ho0w smith is when he returns and if its still shaky maybe MAF is on the radar??
Trades

2.
EDM
  1. Chychrun, Jakob
  2. Crouse, Lawson
Additional Details:
oilers get their top 4 dman they need and honestly deserves to play top mins over nurse but probably wont. hes a top 10 dman on the worst team in the league so just imagine when hes passing to mcdavid and drai rather than beagle and loui.. crouse a good bottom 6 big body
ARI
  1. Kassian, Zack
  2. Lavoie, Raphael
  3. Samorukov, Dmitri
  4. 2022 1st round pick (EDM)
  5. 2023 3rd round pick (EDM)
  6. 2024 1st round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
i believe based off their trade with van city that 2 firsts and 2 B+ prospects would be enough for chyc and zona takes kassians contract for a 3rd maybe a second so we could get crouse
3.
EDM
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
cap dump
OTT
  1. Koskinen, Mikko
Additional Details:
since ottawa has 3 3rds they can get rid of one and they need goaltending desperately not to make the playoffs but just to see how their new core can play in front of competent goaltending rather than what they've got. mikko not worth a 3rd but his record might help him
4.

  1. 2022 2nd round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
get rid of barrie contract and require a good pick

Why would Ottawa trade a 3rd for a 33 year year old bum goalie who even you know is a cap dump? Also the Sens are getting better goaltending right now from Forsberg than they'd get from Koskinen.

This is what happens when people don't follow the other teams, and don't bother to look beyond the full season numbers. Ottawa had a rough November, giving up 4.42 goals a game over 12 games, worse in the league. They also had games cancelled due to Covid. Since November, they have given up 3.00 goals a game over 8 games, and that's middle of the pack, tied for 13th in the league. Considering they gave up 6 goals in that first game of the month, they have given up 2.57 goals a game since December 1st, when they made a defensive culture change after that game, shortening the bench and playing the 3rd pair much less.

Ottawa has Forsberg playing well, Gustavsson who is in a funk, and Murray who should return soon enough. With Sogaard and Mandolese, there's no room for Koskinen.

Also, Ottawa isn't, "getting rid of" any pick. Do you have some cash you need to get rid of? I have some property in Florida for ya...

Ottawa is not spending a 3rd round pick on a cap dump.

Try again.

Heh. Nah, you'll need to throw out that Arizona offer and start over. It's so bad, and not getting Chych by himself, let alone Crouse, as well. .
