in the case of an islanders rebuild, that package is pretty solid. he does get a raise next year if that matters for the jets’ cap situation? but it’s 1.1mil so should be covered by the cap increase.

Yeah, i saw that..I took that into account… thanx
I was trying to give value for a signed long term #1 RD of his age and ability… wasn’t sure about Lucius, but glad it works. Really don’t want to move Perfetti as we don’t know what Scheifele is going to do and we might need Perfetti

If the isles went into a rebuild (I doubt it) perfetti needs to be included in the deal.

Perfetti, Heinola, Schmidt + 2nd for Pulock is what it would have to look like

Fine with me

Pulock isn’t worth the upgrade to Schmidt by FAR with Perfetti

Fair value doesn’t get you Pulock. He’s an elite #1 defenseman on a bargain contract. Schmidt is a #4 at this point is his career.

Pulock would have gotten 7.5-8 mill if he hit the open market. He took a discount.

I’ve watched a lot of Schmidt over the last two years. He doesn’t drive play as well as he used to. He’s a 2nd pair D

he took a discount but his numbers definitely dont suggest hes an elite #1

I wouldn't do this, the Jets defense isn't its issue, they can't fukkin score, need some forwards who can put the puck in the damn net.

He’s doesn’t have to offensive flair to be considered an elite #1 and he’s playing Trotz’s defence first system

Even if the site suggests he’s worth 8 when he just signed a 6 mill deal long term taking an apparent 25% pay cut elite #1’s still make more then 6-8

Pulock is top 20 in offensive impact among defenseman over the last 4 years. It does not matter what he signed for - his analytics + overall impact show he was a top 15 Dman over the 3 seasons.

The difference is pionks analytics show he’s a solid #2 D. I’d be a homer if I couldn’t prove Pulock is an elite #1. There isn’t a model out there that doesn’t have Pulock as a two way elite #1 D.

Pulock drives play offensively, when he’s on the ice the isles score goals at an elite rate, and he’s elite defensively. The numbers don’t lie

I don’t do numbers, I watch games

And when I see Pulock i see a player who really good defensively with a bit of offence flair and him and his partner compliment each other really well while benefiting from Trotz defence first system

So mb, I agree he’s really good but can’t see him as an elite #1.. maybe my eyesight is bad lol idk but I got a good track record with this stuff imosmile

So if the numbers say he’s an elite #1, we’re supposed to take your eye test as a better indicator of Pulocks impact? So you watch every isles game and focus solely on Pulock right?

Trotz system hasn’t changed the trajectory of any defenseman on the isles, they don’t benefit at all actually. The isles were good because Pelech and Pulock are elite , not because they benefited from Trotz system

Well mods blocked my comment go figure

So much for constructive conversation

So sum it up I basically said I don’t believe Pulock’s an elite #1, his contract is a steal but he’s still lacking to reach that tier.. more so on the offensive side, feel the same when looking at the numbers and watching him play

Everybody has their own thoughts those r just mine

Pulock’s offensive impact is better than his defensive impact. That’s the best part of his game. The fact that he’s also great defensively is what makes him an elite #1. There are very few Defenseman in the NHL who can make an impact at both ends of the ice at a high level. The numbers say he is elite and most people who watch him play know he’s dominant in all 3 zones
