Too many horrible MTL ACGM

Created by: Jobob77
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 15, 2021
Published: Dec. 17, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Having fun and trying to find good destinations for our players.

Possible trades before 2022 TDL:

PIT & MTL
Zucker and Gallagher have horrible contracts but Gally would be more useful than Zuck especially in the playoffs.

MTL & ARI
Protected pick

MTL & WSH
Chiarot would be awesome with Carlson. He showed that he could play big minutes and he was solid during the playoffs. It would give a break to Fehervary even if he is not bad at all.

MTL & WPG
WPG could use a good defensive forward such as Lekhonen with their lack of forward depth. The duo Stanley-Wideman is interesting.

MTL & ANA
I think that ANA could use a better 3LHD.

MTL & COL
Allen would be a cheap option for the next 2 years.

MTL & NYR
Good and cheap goalscorer for your top 6

For the moment Drouin, Hoffman, Armia, Petry and Price doesn’t have a good value. Wait for the offseason or the next TDL to move them.

Gallagher and Zucker have horrible contracts but unfortunately Gallagher's one is three times longer. Wrong team is giving up the pick here.

The ducks don’t need a better 3LD. Benoit and Mahura are just fine.

Could honestly argue Zuckers contract isn’t even horrible. It’s only one more year and he’s just snake bitten. He generates tons of offensive chances. Just for whatever reason can’t bury them as often unless he is with Crosby. Gallagher’s body is starting to fail him. So idk how he’d be better in the playoffs lol.

Based this trade on PIT fans ACGM that were giving 2x 2nd (+ Légaré) + Zuck for Gally.

Gally is well known for his outstanding performances during the playoffs.

The duo Stanley-Wideman is interesting… no, no it’s not… it’s really not… not even a little bit.
Jets decline. Not paying that for a bottom 6 winger we don’t need and a downgrade on our bottom pairing RD.

Yesh they are not that bad but i was seeing a fit there for Kulak. He could also fit elsewhere.

Jets decline… way to much to pay for Lehkonen and Wideman

A second for Lekhy is the estimated price. Wideman vs Demelo was for the salary cap. May be a bit to much but I find it interwting for both parties.

He’s not worth a 2nd to Winnipeg. LW is our position of strength.
Not downgrading the RD for cap reasons and adding a 4th on top of it

He can play either on the left or on the right. Svechnikov, Toninato and Harkins aren’t as good as Lekhy.

And he’s only 23. Shattenkirk is the weak link on D.

Svech was playing Connor and Dubois and played like what he should’ve been with Detroit and is still doing just fine without them

I prefer Harkins because he’s younger with more upside

Terrible for Winnipeg. The Jets are giving up a RH defenseman they need for a bottom 6 winger they have no use for and a healthy scratch. Nothing in it for Winnipeg.

Can understand but 2 years younger and he never had a season with more than 15 points :/

Fehervary Is better than Chiarot… Capitals don’t need to give up a 1st for a guy that isn’t an upgrade over any of our LSD. This odd narrative that we need to upgrade our LSD is just silly. MF is a rookie and he’s playing top minutes and look amazing. Why would you want to have him take a step back and replace him with an inferior player? Seems unnecessary. Wasting assets that we desperately need

Idk, the Jets bottom six is junk, Lehkonen would be an improvement on most if not all of them.

Still would be Winnipeg's 8th best defenseman at most.

Blake Coleman just signed a $4.9M x 6 year contract at 30 years old and has touched a 30 goal pace once.

Gallagher is signed for $6.5M x 6 years and had held a 30 goal pace for 4 consecutive years. If he were a free agent this season, he would have gotten at least that much on the open market. He's also a little younger.

Let's stop pretending he's a cap dump.

I haven’t seen any pens fans trade that for gally. And if they did they are terrible. And my point was that Gally’s body is starting to fail him and if he is injured and not hitting/scoring then he will be no better than Zucker.

Zucker's playoffs in Pittsburgh - 10 games, 4 goals, 5 points.
Gallagher during that same time - 31 games, 3 goals, 10 points.

It's not an upgrade for Pittsburgh, nor is it worth a 1st to take on that contract. I know some pens fans have made comments, but I would rather just extend Rust instead of giving up any draft capital.
