No, just used the Jets to get the picks I think the Sabres could get from trading away, Eakin, Hagg, Hinostroza and Miller.
The return could more or less depending on the market and value at the TDL
Eakin is winning about 58% of his face offs,
Hagg is playing a solid very physical defense
Hinostroza is on pace to 40 pts
Miller is on pace to 35 pts.
They all have value, but maybe a team could get a better player at a higher price, IDK.
      I hope this makes sense.

      No, to both trades
And even if they did happen,
the team you laid out is NOT “competing for the Cup”
Playoffs maybe, but not the Cup

I can understand your reluctance to make the trades.
IMO both Mantha and Dumba would get contracts around $7,000,000 and Dumba maybe as much as much Seth Jones.
      Just consider:
Mantha balances RW with LW, three good LW with three good RW.
Dumba balances the LHD with RHD.
Both Dumba and Mantha are noted for their physical play, which the Sabres lack.
When Anderson or Luukkonen are between the pipes the Sabres record is 6-4-1 over 82 games 97 pts.
Adding Tuch, Dumba, Krebs, Quinn, Mittelstadt (only played 4 games this year) and Samuelsson IMO would improve that significantly.
Finally, I said a run at the cup, which is another way of saying making the playoffs.
Let me close, I love Cozens and Olofsson, but Buffalo needs RHD and RW, these trades do that.
I will admit we could balance LW/RW by moving Thompson, to RW, Mittelstadt to center and Olofsson to the top 6, that does not solve the Sabres' need for more grit.
So maybe I drop the trades and offer Letang $9,000,000 for 6 years.

I am not expecting you to change your mind, just some information to consider.

There’s a big difference between “making the playoffs” and being a team that can actually “compete for the cup”

You’re basing your goaltending choices off of an 11 game sample size…. Dude, no offense, but that’s just dumb. It’s WAY TOO SMALL of a sample size to project anything moving forward from that…. And 6-4-1 is ABSOLUTELY NOT “Cup contending” level goaltending
      Come on now

Bc this team is not anywhere close to actually “competing for the Cup, we just aren’t ready for trades like you want
And frankly, the guys u are trading for aren’t even all that good
And Dumba AND Mantha both miss WAY TOO MUCH TIME bc they’re ALWAYS INJURED

Lacking physical play is an issue,
but that doesn’t mean we should make BAD TRADES for guys who are ALWAYS HURT
They aren’t gonna be providing much physical play when they’re on IR anyways
There’s other ways to get physical players in here
We have a TON of Cap space, so we could just overpay a couple guys on short term deals (for example)

Dude…. Dumba is just nowhere close to the level talent that u trade last year’s 1OA pick for- that’s insane
Idk what you’re even talking about with trading Cozens,
bc you’re sending them Power for Dumba +
You don’t have any trades with Cozens in them????

      Sorry to be so harsh
But these trades just aren’t good, and i don’t think your logic is either
Just doesn’t make any sense to me

Its a good thing we traded Jack because from 2016 to 2021 he played in 12 fewer games than the often injured Mantha.
But lets remove last year as well, Jack has played in an average of 6 more games per year.

      @gretzkyghosts

Guys, you can't even see Adams trying to develop this team. He absolutely does not chase the Cup, he is not in a hurry with the development of prospects, he does not trade our prospects and picks. Olofsson looks solid at RW, so I don't even understand what is the point of this deal, especially since Olofsson already has chemistry with this core. Mantha is also a good player, but he will not make this team better and he is no better than Olofsson, who by the way is progressing noticeably and began to play better at ES. Also, you are not trading #1 guy you picked last season who looks very promising. At the same time, I was not at all sold to Dumba, which will soon become UFA.

If u wanna define how good a defenseman is by the goals they score, then go ahead…. but that’s not for me
And trading the 1OA pick from last year for Dumba is pretty freaking insane

And yeah, I’m more than ok with trading Eichel
      It was time

Seems that you’re actually the one who wants to argue,
since u jumped into this for no reason

Would u really trade Power for Dumba?!
      It’s laughable

Guys, you can't even see Adams trying to develop this team. ...
      You mean Karmanos.
Everything improved when he become Associate General Manager.
Compare the UFA's signed this year v last year, and how much more the Sabres received in the trades.
Adams lost Ullmark for nothing, gave away Hall for a late 2nd and only received a 3rd for Montour.
Who would have thought Ristolainen would return Hagg, much less a first and second.
Most Sabre ACGM's thought Buffalo would need to ADD a pick to unload Ristolainen, if Adams were the GM I suspect that is what would have happened.

      JASON KARMANOS

Well, we can't know exactly what is happening there, but probably yes, Karmanos has a serious impact, but he was hired by Adams because he is smart and understands that he needs to gather a good front office around him. Therefore, there would be no Karmanos in Buffalo if Adams were not there.

I think the rebuild is over.
The Sabres will be trying to make the playoffs next year.
Tuch, Power, Samuelsson, Laaksonen, Luukkonen, Subban, Quinn, and Krebs will replace Hinostroza, Hagg, Bryson, Miller, Anderson, Tokarski, Hayden, and Eakin respectively.
Hinostroza, Hagg and Miller are decent NHL players and will return decent picks at the TDL the 8 new players will give the team solid depth.
If Buffalo could sign a good RHD, it will be in the playoffs.
While they suffered through a 9 game stretch where they gave up 44 goals, the rest of the season has been very good 10-8-2 or 90 pts over 82 games.
With Mittelstadt and those 8 new players in the line up IMO will easily produce an additional 10 pts or 100 total pts and the playoffs.

      I agree

I do not expect the team to make the playoffs next season, but I do expect an improvement in the table. Owen Power is not the guy we trade, it's just obvious. Adams, if desired, can find an RD in another trade or in a free agency, without trading our main prospect. I would build our defense around Dahlin and Power for the next 10-15 years, adding to them guys who can be physical and mobile. and I hope Adams does just that.

Did I not say the same thing?
What in my comment is different?
Give me line by line how mine is different other than I think the Sabres will have close to 100 pts next year and you do not.

You said "The Sabres will be trying to make the playoffs next year". And "If Buffalo could sign a good RHD, it will be in the playoffs."

I disagree with that. Perhaps not being in the top 10 worst teams in the league will be a success at this stage.

I said we disagreed on how well the Sabres will do nest year?

What about you going on about not trading Power?
I agreed to that in my first comment to and LOVE, did I not?
But both of you continue on as if I did not.
Why do I bother replying if you are not going to read it with understanding?

I don't understand what you want from me.

Buffalo won't make the playoffs next season and Buffalo doesn't trade Power. Here is my opinion, and this can probably end the conversation, because we just do not understand each other.
