Wow a legend sheary burner account where I actually like a trade?

I hear a lot of SJ fans say they want to resign him (which I think is a mistake), but if they do pull off a trade, this is pretty good

Two groups say no.
1. Sharks fans, because they’re insane.
2. The Bruins.

If you can find a player of hertl’s caliber that has gone for that kind of price tag as a rental i would be shocked. Actually, lets just find anyone that’s gone for that kind of price tag and work our way backwards.
High end rentals tend to be a first and a kicker.

I agree with you but if you took out the 2nd, I think this could get it done. Studnicka and Debrusk don't help Boston right now and Hertl is going to be overpaid for if he's let go

I guess it depends on how you value Studnicka & DeBrusk. We’ve been hearing how great Studnicka is but he hasn’t shown it in the NHL and isn’t highly ranked on prospect boards. DeBrusk well asked for a trade and hasn’t lived up to his earlier success.

Both fall into the kicker category. Obviously debrusk of higher value. A first and either one of them work.

Still think it’s too much
Take out studnicka. A 1st, debrusk, and a 3rd.

I mean I think that's very reasonable but I feel like Hertl will get overpaid

As a sharks fan Studnicka isn’t intriguing. If there was another trade on the table with a separate team that included a center prospect I’d probably prefer to go that route.

This is an easy no for a Hertl trade.

Seems like way too much for rental Hertl. But I don't understand your scenario. "Should the Sharks sign trade Hertl or resign him". Maybe the best scenario might be....trade him and then sign him as UFA in the summer.

What player of hertl’s caliber has ever gotten more? Just name one for me. If it’s an easy no, there should be precedent for one time in league history where a hertl type player got more as a rental.
