Philadelphia might do that if Cliff Fletcher is willing to trade away another first-rounder, but I doubt it. As everyone else who's commented here says, the other four trades aren't in the realm of possibility, let alone rationality.

I don't even think we can be sure anymore if any of the Habs ACGMs that we see nowadays are serious.

I’m no Habs fan, but most of these trades are in the favor of MTL. I am going to be in the minority of people when I say this, but Price could definitely draw that much, and he could draw as much, if not more than Eichel if half retention came in the trade. The only other semi realistic trade is for Philly, and unless they become a contender real quick, they won’t do that. For the canes trade, why would they even consider that. A future star on his ELC for a washed up vet and a 3rd.

The big fish in this ACGM is Price, he is still an elite goalie who will very likely end up in the HOF. For a team with uncertain goaltending like the Avs, this could be the final piece they need to really contend. For me, Price w/o retention is 2 first equivalents. But Price w/ half retention could be worth 4 first equivalents. The amount of money being retained ($5.25 million) for the duration of the contract (4-5 years if I remember correctly) will raise the value of Price drastically.

It feels like I am the only Price defender on here, but I believe that the proposed trade in this ACGM for Alice is fair value. I know I’m in the minority for this opinion, so try not to roast me alive.
