Who knows if Kypreos is right or not, but assuming he is, your offer really isn’t close at all to what the Sabres got for Eichel
Sure, it’s 4 pieces
And the draft picks have roughly the same expected value

But Tuch & Krebs have WAY more value than Kerfoot & Amirov
Imo anyways

That's some bad looking forward depth. Also, I don't see why Leafs would have interest in Chychrun. Yes, he'd be their best D, but their left side is already stacked. In this case Muzzin would have to be traded for a forward or two, but the best decision would be to, instead of Chychrun, go for a top-4 RHD to replace Holl. Thats a more immediate need.

To a team that needs him and can absorb his cap hit, Chychrun would be a great addition. But I don't think that he works for the Maple Leafs. Among other things, I'm under the impression, from what CapFriendly says, that Muzzin has an absolute NTC through this season and next, and it only becomes a 10-team NTC with his last season.

I'm still offering Alex Turcotte, one of Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Lias Andersson, Blake Lizotte or Sean Walker, one of Brock Faber or Helge Grans (better than our 2023 second), and our 2022 first for Chychrun.

I really don't think that's too far off. Eichel was at an injury discount and had a much smaller market due to his cost and desired surgery. Chychrun is not injured and on an excellent contract. He is elite already and still has even higher potential to reach. Arizona really has no reason to move him without a top end prospect and at least a 1st coming back

You are correct with Jake:
Yr 4: $2M Base, $2M SB, Modified No Trade
Ten team trade list final year
Full no move right now

Edit:
Jakob would be a sick addition but he does not fit in now and especially long term with the Leafs.

I considered inserting Nylander into the trade instead of Kerfoot.

But I decided against it.

It would need to be a team like St Louis. St Louis has a very deep forward group and most of the piece they need to compete in place, even on defence except for a top 4LD. And they have a good enough package to put in place. Guys like Neighbours, Kostin , etc could be included. And they’re also acquiring a guy who can help them in the short and longterm in Chychrun. It’s a no brainer especially if they get ARIZONA to take Scandella back in the package

Comparing healthy Eichel to Chychrun's is insanity. Eichel was traded at quite a market discount because of his injury

I just don’t think Kerfoot has any trade value when it comes to getting a guy like Chychrun

Is Arizona really trying to trade this guy?
Wtf are they thinking??

That's why the leafs are screwed for the next 3 years. They have 3 d-men next year making a combined 18 million with a NTC or NMC. They have Zero cap space to make a big trade on defense unless they move Kerfoot, Nylander or Marner.

Look at his stats. He's a 2nd pairing guy on any other team. He just got a lot of shooting luck last year which isn't repeatable.

This is what an elite young defenseman on a poor team looks like:
