I think that is a fair deal for Brock not really knowing Severson that well though other than he seems to have good analytics and be the right age and position

I think i would disagree with you, Severson is a ufa the same year Horvat and Miller are and like them will need a big pay raise, rather just try and go after him as ufa

Getting him now would give you a much better idea if you want to sign him long term. As of now the jury is still out on Boeser being given a long term contract at numbers north of 7. I mean I guess you do it but it could be a good move to maximize his value and trade a position of strength in top 9 wingers for a position of weakness RD. Hell sign Forsberg as UFA this yr and your further along than waiting for Severson.

I am not apposed to Trading Brock for a true Young RHD, i just don't think Severson is the right target as we are giving up age in the trade as well

There just aren't any RD available. I've looked through the whole league. Almost no RD available for Brock. Serverson being 27 is a bit of an issue but I think thats easily 6 seasons left of top level play.

I don't think Severson is that valuable honestly, I think the Devils need to add more
