Description
READ MY DESCRIPTION FOR EACH TRADE BELOW. TRIED MY BEST TO VALUE PLAYERS/PICKS APPROPRIATELY, IF YOU THINK I OVER/UNDER VALUED SOMETHING PROVIDE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.

Vegas Trade- Once Eichel comes back Vegas will need to shed cap space. Rumor is Reilly Smith to the Rangers but they will need to shed more. Vegas gets some picks and prospects that have some promise to them. Koivula has never been given a shot in the NHL because the Islanders are all set at the center position. Salo has shown some promise in the NHL but needs a little more time to adjust to the NHL game. And I just tried to spread the two picks over this year and next. Islanders get a puck-moving D-man.

Devils Trade- Bernier might be done. Devils could use a solid backup for this year and next. Islanders get their 4th back, a 2nd, and an RW prospect who has shown promise but not been able to translate his game to the NHL.

Blues Trade- Clutterbuck is a rental for a St. Louis playoff run, he can be placed on the 4th line to crash and bang and provide energy to the line-up. Islanders get some mid-round draft capital

Leafs Trade- Leaf fans seem to want Mayfield and want to get rid of McDermott. Leafs get a very cap-friendly RD who has played top 4 minutes and the Islanders get a younger D-man and get to add to their prospect pool. (I might have overvalued Mayfield)

The Blues have no need or cap for Clutterbuck at this time. They may wish to inquire about Mayfield, though.

And uhh, that's not getting you Theodore. Can't imagine they'd deal him anyway.

With the Theodore trade, they will be at a disadvantage due to teams knowing they are trying to shed cap. Value might not be there but I don't think they will get a crazy return.

Zero chance Vegas trades Theodore and especially not for that, NJ doesn't seem like they'd have any need for Varlamov, Edmonton seems to be a better fit but I haveno idea if Varly has trade protection or if he'd waive it for the Oilers.

Problem with saying that they'll be at a disadvantage, is that *if* they decided to move Theodore, there'd still be a long lineup of teams coming for him. So, yeah, maybe the value drops ever-so-slightly (I don't think it would, aside from trying to rush a trade), but there'd still be a bidding war to get him. The guy is a stud.

Plus, they obviously think they can manage this going forward. Whether it means moving like Smith, Marchy, Dadonov, or even Karlsson, there's a long list of player that they'd try to move long before going to Theodore.

Not sure that Mayfield is better than Dermot (or any Leaf Dman) this season, for the Leafs to give assets in any exchange.

Varlamov has a 16 team no trade list that kicked in this season.

Even with Vegas being at a disadvantage teams will line up around the block at the chance for Theodore. He will cost a ton more than this IMO

Theodore would cost more
Varlamov trade is fair, but Devils aren't going for a playoff run so it doesn't make sense to give up picks

I think Devils were interested in a goalie for only this year when Bernier went down. They got Gilles.
Maybe Varm as off-season thing if Bernier is not to return.
